Satan will never be able to take away our salvation. God is bigger and will not abandon those who are his. But he may do a lot of harm and paralyze us in our pursuit of God's relationship and personal purity.
As a consequence, Satan has no real influence over Christians. He cannot make us sin, he cannot possess us, and he knows that we will eventually triumph over him. Simultaneously, Satan continues to produce obstacles for believers in this fallen world.
True power over Satan belongs to Jesus Christ. He defeated Satan once and for all when He died on the cross. Since that time, Satan has had no influence over anyone who is born again by faith in Jesus Christ. Instead, God uses those spiritual forces against Satan that Jesus released during His earthly life.
In conclusion, yes, a Christian can have true power over Satan.
Satan is attempting to destroy us, while God is attempting to protect us. So, much like Job, whenever Satan tries to hurt us or our circumstances, we must remember that God is still present. God thinks we are strong enough to withstand the difficulties we give ourselves, and He knows we will develop as a consequence. When things don't go our way, or when we are faced with pain or suffering, we must not believe the end result will be worse than what we have now. Remember that God always wins in the end.
Here are just some of the ways that Satan has tried to destroy people:
Babylonia - This was an empire that covered parts of modern-day France, Germany, and Italy. The king of Babylonia, Nimrod, had great power over his subjects because he claimed to be a descendant of Noah's son Shem. However, God did not want him to have this kind of power so He sent prophets who told the people about Jesus Christ. Eventually, King Nimrod decided to kill them but they were saved by God's angel Raphael. He brought them to Europe where they started a church known as Catholicism.
The Borgias - Rodrigo de Borgia was an Italian priest and politician who became Pope Alexander VI. He was one of the most powerful men in Italy during his time and ruled from 1492 to 1503. During his reign, he married himself to increase his wealth and power.
Satan's purpose is the same as it was in the Garden of Eden. He is attempting to mislead as many people as possible away from the truth about the one and only real God, the father of Jesus Christ. He can't take your soul since people were meant to dwell forever in Earth's paradise. However, he can cause you to do things that will result in you being judged by God when you go to be with him.
Satan has the power to tempt us because God gave him this power. Before Adam and Eve sinned, they had nothing to fear from Satan; instead, he served them. But after they fell, Satan became their enemy, too. Since his goal is to destroy humanity, taking your soul is just one way he uses temptation to try and beat God's plan for your life.
Temptation comes in many forms. It can be something physical, such as hunger or thirst. Or it can be something emotional, such as anger or lust. Or it can be something spiritual, such as pride or jealousy. Temptation doesn't come from nowhere; it comes from Satan himself. He wants to get you to do things that will hurt yourself or others, so he can feel powerful when he causes you to fall.
When you give in to a temptation, you are saying "yes" to Satan. That means you are allowing him to have control over you.
Satan has no control over us when we place ourselves under God's protection. He'll flee. Furthermore, we can react to the devil's temptations in the same way that Jesus did. When Satan tempted Jesus in the desert three times, the Lord always answered by repeating God's Word (Matthew 4:1-11).
When it comes to our personal lives, there are two areas where Satan has no authority: where we place our faith in Jesus Christ and where we exercise our free will. In other words, he cannot torment us in either our soul or our body because of our relationship with Jesus Christ.
Jesus said, "He who believes in me will not perish but have eternal life" (John 6:47). This means that if you trust in Jesus Christ for your salvation, you will be protected from Satan's attacks. He cannot harm you!
But Jesus also told his disciples that they would see him again before he left Earth (see John 14:18). This indicates that after Jesus returns to Heaven after his death, Satan will continue to attack those who remain on Earth.
So in conclusion, Satan has no power over us while we live on Earth because we have been given freedom in both our souls and our bodies. However many years you live here on Earth, you will be attacked by the devil during that time.
