According to the Bible, God created Adam and Eve to care for His creation, populate the planet, and have a relationship with Him. The first gardeners were Adam and Eve. They dwelt in the Garden of Eden, a lovely environment with no thorns or weeds and abundant fruit production. It was not to be enjoyed by just one person, but rather as a gift to share with their fellow man.
After sinning against God (and each other) by eating from the Tree of Knowledge, He banished them from the Garden. Although they would go on to live among people, they would no longer experience life in paradise. They would now need to be cared for by others because there would be no more work for them to do.
However, they would still be able to enjoy nature's bounty because it would be available to them through others. Since food was now being handled by animals instead of humans, both Adam and Eve were required to work the land and feed its inhabitants. This is why farmers today continue to promote vegan diets with soya beans, corn, and wheat being some of the most efficient sources of protein. Humans did not need to eat animal products to be healthy. However, due to the fall of man, our only option is to try and regain our health by feeding ourselves foods that will once again make us feel energetic and alive.
They were not to eat from any tree in the garden, but they could eat anything they found in the wild.
Their job was to take care of the garden and they had help from animals named Adan and Eve. When God created humans, he gave them power over all the earth and told them not to eat from any tree in the garden. However, when people turned away from him, God punished them by giving them laborious tasks to do in the garden. Thus, humanity became responsible for keeping the world under control.
Some scholars believe that this story was written down many hundreds of years after it happened. However, there are still questions about how old the Bible really is because most modern historians agree that the book of Genesis was written between 400 B.C. and 400 A.D..
Adam and Eve were not the only gardeners before creation. Humans also lived with lions, tigers, and other dangerous animals before the fall. After the fall, humans had to fight against predators too until Jesus came along and provided a way for us to get back into the presence of God.
Their mere names allude to their functions. Adam was created first, then Eve. They were not created equal. Adam was given dominion over the earth, while Eve was given responsibility for caring for him.
They could have lived forever if God had wanted them to, but after creating them in His image He decided they should have a limited lifespan. At the end of time, both Adam and Eve will be destroyed along with all other living things, except for Noah's family and eight others who were saved from destruction inside of animals. After the flood there was no more death or mourning or crying or pain. The only thing people could do is praise and thank God for being so gracious as to save them!
This world is not meant for humans to live in alone. We were meant to be part of a community that shares our values and helps us realize our full potential. Humans are social beings who need other humans to survive. This is why God created families: to help each other reach our maximum potential.
By giving humanity an initial purpose, God has always been guiding us toward greater things.
