If we are to prevent spiritual stagnation and decay, we must examine ourselves everyday in the mirror (or X-ray) of God's Word. We don't spend a day without looking in the mirror to check our appearance. There should never be a day when we do not examine our hearts. 3. The Word of God is compared to fire in Jeremiah 23:29. It produces the fruit of repentance that leads to salvation. It destroys strongholds built by sin and ill will (see Ephesians 6:10).
The Bible says that the effect of the word of God is "that we may be made complete." In other words, the effect of the word of God is to make us fully mature spiritually so that we can bear much fruit for God.
How does the word of God make us complete? It makes us complete by cleansing us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7). It makes us complete by creating in us a desire to know Him deeply (Psalm 73:23). It makes us complete by giving us life to the full (John 10:10).
It gives us strength when we go through trials, hurts, or disappointments. It helps us live right and lead holy lives. It brings healing when we are sick or injured. It preserves our lives forever (see Psalm 91:5).
God's word is alive and active.
A bit of Bible reading every day will provide spiritual nutrition. If you don't touch, read, or hear the Word of God every day, you'll start to feel "hungry for the Word," as if you've skipped a meal. Touching a Bible every day will push you to believe and hope, love and forgive, sacrifice and trust. Hearing the Bible read each day will keep you connected to its messages and encourage you to apply it in your life.
Bible reading affects your daily life by giving you strength when you need it and helping you understand things that happen around you. It also helps you grow closer to our Lord, who wants us to get to know him better through his word.
When you read the Bible regularly, it will change how you look at everything. Before I started reading the Bible regularly, I used to think about all kinds of sins that I was guilty of. Now when I read stories in the Bible about people who did terrible things, I can see that they must have been sick inside because they were able to overcome their problems with drugs or alcohol. This has helped me resist temptation when I encounter situations like this in my own life.
When you read the Bible regularly, it will change how you live your life. When you read about people who lived holy lives, you'll be encouraged to follow them example. You may want to change something about your lifestyle (such as stop drinking coffee) but until you do so, you shouldn't expect to receive blessings from God.
For the word of God is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the division of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and discernment of the thoughts and intentions of the heart. It can cut through all deceit and lies that block people from hearing God's call into their lives.
The Bible is true because it speaks from beyond the grave about a world without end. It is also capable of saving our souls.
'Anyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ has been born again. This means that we have been given new life '
'You must be born again! John 3:7 says, "He answered, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except by me.'" If you want to see your sins forgiven, if you want to experience eternal life, then believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
'Everyone who believes in Jesus will be saved, they will go to heaven when they die. Those who do not believe will never see God,'
