What is independent freedom?

Independence denotes being able to achieve something on your own without relying on others. Perhaps this helps, but freedom has a larger perimeter with no constraints or regulations. For example, you can ride a bicycle independently and freely throughout the park. Nobody is responsible for one's independence.

Independence is a broader concept than freedom. Freedom only means that you are not free from any restrictions; you are still dependent on other people. Independence also includes elements of choice and capability. For example, an independent person could choose to walk through the park rather than take the bus. And an independent person could decide to sit elsewhere in the classroom instead of sitting by her friends. In short, independence involves using your mind and body separately from others.

Some students may question why freedom and independence are listed as separate values. The authors of the book found that most students understood freedom and independence to be different things. Therefore, they were able to include both words in their list. However, there is some overlap between these values. All of the items below involve choices that an independent person would have to make: choosing what to eat for breakfast, deciding where to go on vacation, selecting subjects in school, etc. As you can see, many aspects of life require decisions to be made independently of others.

It is important to understand that freedom and independence do not mean being alone. They mean that you are not controlled by others.

I believe that freedom and independence are very important. When you go out into the world, you will see that there are many different countries with different ideas about what freedom and independence mean. For some, it means being allowed to say whatever they like; for others, it means not being able to speak up for themselves.

Independence means being self-sufficient and not needing anyone else to fulfill your needs. It also means being able to decide what role you want to play in society. There are two types of independence: personal and political. Personal independence involves being able to think for yourself and make your own decisions; this type of independence is important because it is the only way to achieve real social change. What does it mean to be an independent?

An independent voter is one who votes for candidates based on issues rather than political philosophy or partisanship; one who does not have long-standing loyalty to, or affiliation with, a political party; and one who does not normally vote for the same political party from election to election. In some countries, such as India, Australia, and Israel, individuals are required by law to register as independent voters.

In the United States, independence is given as a choice on voting ballots. The ballot will list several choices, usually called candidates or representatives. By marking an "X" next to the name of one of these choices, the voter indicates his/her preference for that office holder. If a voter does not mark an "X", or votes for more than one candidate, he/she is said to be voting in violation of section 1 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and may be subject to civil penalties. However, if a voter marks an "X" beside every name except one, this is known as a write-in vote, and can only be done for local offices (except mayoral races) in some states. Some states allow voters to cast provisional ballots that are counted if they match up with existing voter registrations. Other states require that all ballots be cast into one large bowl, with each candidate assigned a number. The numbers are then drawn at random to determine which candidates win office.
