Mahishmati's ruler is Bhallaladeva. He is the sole child of Sivagami and Bijjaladeva, and the older cousin-brother of Amarendra Bahubali. He is known for being an ideal king and is often referred to as "The Deity Who Reigns in Mahishmati".
Bhallaladeva was born on an island in the Ganges River, which is why many believe he is immortal. The island that he was born on is now called "Bahubali Island" in his honor.
When Bhallaladeva was a young boy, his father, Bijjaladeva, decided to have him married so that he would have heirs to rule after his death. But before they could be married, Bijjaladeva died. Now eighteen years old, Bhallaladeva ruled over Mahishmati until he became emperor at the age of twenty-five. During this time, he fought many wars against other kings to protect its sovereignty. At the end of his life, he asked people to remember him as an ideal king who loved them back.
Nowadays, he is older than most deities in Hinduism. This means he has lived for a very long time compared to other gods/goddesses.
While the love story of Devsena (Anushka Shetty) and Mahendra Baahubali (Prabhas) takes up the majority of the first half of the film, there is no mention of Bhallaladeva's wife. And this question has piqued the interest of many admirers. Rana Daggubati has answered the enigma surrounding Bhallaladeva's queen in an interview with Bollywoodlife.com.
When asked about Bhallaladeva's wife, he said: "Bhallaladeva was a great king but he had a bad character too. He was not good-looking at all. So his wife must have been beautiful to deserve him."
He added: "There are lots of questions that remain unanswered in the movie. For example, we don't know how many wives Bhallaladeva had or what kind of relationship they had with each other. I hope viewers understand that these are important questions that need to be kept open for future research."
Bhallaladeva was a powerful ruler who defeated several enemies to establish an empire in India. He has been regarded as one of the greatest Indian military leaders and princes of ancient times.
According to history, Bhallaladeva belonged to the Pallava dynasty. His reign lasted from 758 to 805 AD. He succeeded his father Narasimha III as the next ruler of the Pallava Empire.
One With Strong Arms, a respected person among Jains, was the son of Rishabhanatha (the first tirthankara of Jainism) and Bharata Chakravartin's younger brother. Bahubali is supposed to have acquired omniscience after a year of meditation (Kevala Gyana).
He ruled over his kingdom for many years and had many children. After his death, his wife Queen Bhumidevi decided to get rid of all his sons except one who would be the next king. The reason why she did this is because she wanted to protect her son from becoming like his father who killed thousands of people during his reign. So she decided to kill all his sons except his firstborn who she wanted to protect herself from being killed by him.
She ordered her servants to cut off their hands and feet to make them harmless but Bahubali's wife Devasena refused to do this. Then she ordered her servants to burn them alive but again she refused. At last, her husband Bahubali killed all his wives including Devasena who refused to disobey her mother.
Bahubali is said to have done all this to obey his mother's command not to let their son become like him. This shows that even though he was a great king, he could not resist his mother when she asked him to do something wrong.
